Influence of Hot Rolling Finishing Temperature on Texture and Ridging Resistance in Stabilized Ferritic Stainless Steels

چکیده
A systematic study is conducted on a 17% Cr dual stabilized ferritic stainless steel (FSS) to the evolution of texture during hot rolling and its effect ridging resistance after cold annealing. Hot 4-high laboratory mill with finishing temperatures in range 1000–810 °C cover microtexture under both conventional conditions when using low temperatures. Subsequently, hot-rolled coils are rolled annealed same final thickness. The microtextures samples evaluated at each process step scanning electron microscopy combined backscattered diffraction (SEM-EBSD). Lowering temperature results formation intragranular shear bands, which strengthens γ-fiber subsequent annealing material. After reduction 78% followed by annealing, product correlates rolling. FSS improves lowering This shows importance improving inherited from casting FSS.

Study on Oxidation of Stainless Steels During Hot Rolling
The oxidation of stainless steels 304 and 304L during hot rolling is studied in this paper. Results show the oxide scale thickness decreases significantly with an increase of reduction, and the oxide scales of both 304 and 304L stainless steels were found more deformable than the steel substrate. Surface roughness shows a complicated transfer during the hot rolling process due to the complexity...
متن کاملInfluence of Initial Microstructure on Hot Deformation Behavior of Duplex Stainless Steels
In this research the effect of initial microstructure on hot deformation behavior in terms of Ferrite-to-Austenite ratios is studied. Two types of stainless steels C1 and C2 were homogenizing heat-treated and deformed under hot compression examinations at temperatures 900ºC and 1100ºC at strain rate of 0.1s-1. The results showed that the flow stress levels of specimens are strongly r...
متن کاملThermal Fatigue Behavior of 400 Series Ferritic Stainless Steels
In this study, thermal fatigue properties of 400 series ferritic stainless steels have been evaluated in the temperature ranges of 200-800C and 200-900C. Systematic methods for control of temperatures within the predetermined range and measurement of load applied to specimens as a function of temperature during thermal cycles have been established. Thermal fatigue tests were conducted under ful...
متن کاملQuantification of ridging in ferritic stainless steel sheets by electron backscattered diffraction R-value maps.
In ferritic stainless steel (FSS), undesirable surface defects of ridging appear during deep drawing. The formation of these defects is attributed to the inhomogeneous distribution of orientations of individual grains. In the present work, a new electron backscattered diffraction R(α)-value map was introduced, and the dependence of the tensile directions on the formation of ridging in an FSS sh...
متن کاملDetermination of hot- and cold-rolling texture of steels: A combined Bayesian Neural Network model
The work reported in this paper outlines the use of a combined artificial neural network model capable of fast online prediction of textures in low and extra low carbon steels. We approach the problem by a Bayesian framework neural network model that take into account as input to the model the influence of 23 parameters describing chemical composition, and thermomechanical processes such as aus...
